FAQ
Q: How much time do we need to book?
A: To achieve high quality results it takes about a day to record per song for a 4 piece band. This does vary depending on the length and complexity of the songs.
Q: My band wants to record live. Is this possible?
A: We have 3 live rooms and a vocal booth, so live recording is possible. We generally overdub vocals/solos after the track has been recorded. Recording live means we can record more than 1 song in a day, but we ask the bands to be well rehearsed.
Q: We don't want to play to a click track as we want a 'live feel' to the recording.
A: Most commercial releases are recorded to a click track as it tends to result in a tighter performance. You can still record live, with a click, and get a live sound. However, if you feel this doesn't enhance your music we will work without one.
Q: Can we use sample replacements on the music ie drums?
A: Yes, this is not a problem. We have a large collection of samples which we can use to replace/blend with your drumkit.
Q: Once I've finished recording my parts, how can I relax?
A: We have a lounge, with a large TV, PS2 and games, Stereo and as many hot beverages as you can handle! We are also only a short walk to the town centre and a nice pub just round the corner.
Q: What do I need to bring with me?
A: If you have a specific sound, please bring your amps and drumkit. We do have a range of high quality guitar/bass amps and a drumkit. We don't supply cymbals or snare drums. For rehearsals, we supply drumkit and amps, again, not cymbals or snare. We suggest you bring reference CD's along with you if there are particular sounds you like.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: Recording starts at just £150 for a 9 hour day (10am-7pm) or £20 p/h or part hour. Rehearsal cost £10 p/h in our smaller Green room and £12 p/h in our larger Blue room.
